Under The Mistletoe

The tradition of kissing under the mistletoe is really interesting. Many a movie have used it to create tension amongst potential love interests. It would be so convenient if, during this season, me and my potential love interest (imaginary mind you) would be caught under a mistletoe hehe. Whatever the deal, mistletoes are like planted cupids, ever ready to spread the love and attraction.

Christmas Presents

Everybody loves presents, and i believe, more so at Christmas. Giving presents is a sign of love, affection, and effort. It's about making the other person happy, and this is a big part of the Christmas spirit. Who doesn't love presents anyway?! They are definitely a Joy of Life aren't they?

The Nativity

The Nativity is one of the basic beliefs of Christianity. It speaks of the Genesis of Jesus Christ. The reason for Christmas is to celebrate the miraculous birth of Jesus. So, without the Nativity, we wouldn't have this glorious season, and we wouldn't have Christianity. The birth of Jesus Christ is definitely a good reason to be joyful.
Mat 1:23-25: Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.  Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife.  And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Merry Christmas

HO HO HO Merry Christmas! Thank God for this time of the year, filled with love, presents, lights, laughter, and family; loads and loads of family.

Have a merry Christmas everybody!

Santa Claus

Santa Claus is going to be very busy this season. Even the impersonators have a hard job ahead of them; what with knee-sitting kids and trying to fit into chimneys (read windows now). Santa Claus has been ingrained into the celebration of Christmas for so long. And even us old folks who suspect the truth can't help but have a little spark of belief (at least for the kids). I mean, who can resist a chubby white dude in a red suit who loves red nosed reindeers and giving presents to good little kids like me :D

The Christmas Spirit

The Christmas spirit is in the air! Lights appeared on our main street this week; restaurants are putting Christmas carols on replay; so many Santa parties are being organized; my little cousins (who are not so little anymore) have figured out that Santa Claus is phony (shhh); and people are buying presents and hampers and such. Now, along with Good Morning greetings, people are asking if i'm traveling for Christmas. Basically, everyone is looking forward to this break, and it's showing in people's attitudes. I like!

Christmas Carols

Christmas carols are in the air now; on TV, the radio, and blasting on my stereo hehe. My folks and I have even broken into an impromptu carol or two (or three, or four). I love Christmas carols; they sound different from any other type of music, and i love the lyrics. These are definitely a Joy of Life

Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree

Our Christmas tree is getting set up later today. Already, the kids have cleaned it and are going through our Christmas lights and decorations. Christmas trees are certainly of the joys of Christmas- bringing it into the house, decorating it, and putting on the lights (especially when you put of your room lights) are all joyful and fascinating events. Check out the history of the Christmas tree here
